What Is Animal Testing in Cosmetics? Animal testing in cosmetics refers to the use of animals to evaluate the safety of cosmetic ingredients or finished beauty products before they are sold to the public. Animals commonly used in cosmetic laboratory testing include rabbits, mice, rats, and guinea pigs.
